How to choose a bow for me?

i have shot hand me down bows my whole life and now im thinking of buying my own bow.... but i have no idea what i should be looking at. What are some good companys?? Fred bear? any help would be greatly aprreciated. by the way im lookin for weight between 55-70, draw length around 28-32 and i have around 500 + or -. and compound if you havnt got that yet.
